AMR Industry Alliance Will Attend the 10th Annual World AMR Congress

Geneva – July 3rd, 2024 – The AMR Industry Alliance is pleased to attend the 10th Annual World AMR Congress in the lead-up to the UN High-Level Meeting on antimicrobial resistance. The Congress will be held on September 5-6, 2024, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.

The World AMR Congress is the world’s largest AMR event for all stakeholders working to combat antimicrobial resistance. Since 2015, the World AMR Congress has been the most impactful gathering of top thought leaders, hospitals, companies, and policymakers in the antimicrobial resistance space. The Congress is expected to host over 1,300 attendees and facilitates a conference for stakeholders to brainstorm, formulate initiatives, and advance solutions against the pressing global health crisis.

The Congress is especially relevant this year. In September, the United Nations General Assembly will convene its second High-Level Meeting (HLM) on AMR. The Alliance published its own Call-to-Action for the HLM, along with the recommendations of the Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform, where it serves on the Steering Committee.

In 2016, the United Nations called for concerted action from governments and various sectors to address the implications of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) at its first ever High-level Meeting (HLM) on AMR. The AMR Industry Alliance is the life sciences industry’s response to that call for action.

Together with the World AMR Congress, the UN High-Level Meeting on AMR has the potential to accelerate critical action against AMR by bringing political leaders together to devise a clear plan forward to address AMR globally.
